Daniel's Literary Influences

Daniel has many favorites, and he reads a variety of genres including: Biographies, Psychology & Relationships, Business Management, Sports, and great fiction, but these three talented authors have influenced and inspired him beyond all others.

Nina George

I was reading a Nina George novel when I had the idea for writing my own. I love her brand of literary fiction, and I'd like to think my style has some similarity to hers. Easy reading with heart-wrenching stories. If you liked A Camino Begins in Paris, you'll love Nina's work exponentially more.

Two of my favorites:

  • The Little Paris Bookshop

  • Little French Bistro

Gregory Maguire

I wish I could write like Gregory Maguire. He has an unmatched imagination and an incredible talent for creative use of the English language. I get excited each time he releases a new novel. He inspires me to strive for a richness and freedom in the use of words and language in my own writing.

Three of my favorites:

  • Wicked

  • Confessions of An Ugly Stepsister

  • Hiddensee

Mitch Albom

Mitch Albom demonstrates such a passion for great storytelling, in both fiction and non-fiction. His books always lead me to consider more deeply what is important in life, and the direction of my own journey. I have read almost everything he has written, and each and every work is a treasure.

Three of my favorites:

  • Have A Little Faith

  • For One More Day

  • The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto
